Venti Oelde has received major orders totalling almost €7 million from German plant engineering company ThyssenKrupp Uhde for the supply of fans for fertiliser production plants in the USA. The plants produce 3,500 tonnes of fertiliser per day.

The scope of supply includes special low-temperature fans made of stainless steel. Some of the fans are the size of a single-family home. They deliver volume flows of up to 800,000 m³/h and are driven by motors with a power output of up to 3,200 kW. During the engineering phase, earthquake loads and wind speeds of up to 190 km/h had to be taken into account.

A new performance test bench was commissioned some time ago to test the performance of such large fans. The picture shows the assembly of a double-flow fan for performance testing.
